The International Advisory Committee was created in 2008 to build a more inclusive Greensboro for members of the international community by ensuring that the voice of the international community is heard, sharing its successes, and presenting its concerns to the Human Rights Commission and City Council. Its purpose is to study and report to the Human Rights Commission and members of City Council o
n barriers in relation to the members of their specific national origins, study City policies, procedures, and processes that create barriers or impediments for the city's foreign nationals. In addition, they are tasked with analyzing the challenges facing the City and the community, and formulate recommendations to the HRC and City Council, and provide information and education on customs and practices to IAC community representatives to be shared with their respective communities. The list is not intended to be all-inclusive. Examples are:
A. Profane or obscene language or content;
B. Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis
of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with
regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability,
or sexual orientation;
C. Solicitations of commerce;
D. Infringement on copyrights or trademarks; and
