Marikay Abuzuaiter, the Mayor of Greensboro, visited TMSA Triad Secondary School today. Mr. Kandil, Interim Executive Regional Director of TMSA Triad, and Mr. Ben, Superintendent of TMSA Public Charter Schools, welcomed her. After receiving information about the schools, Mayor Abuzuaiter visited the new TMSA Triad McLeansville Campus.

This year marks an exciting new chapter for TMSA as we continue to grow with the opening of our new Durham and McLeansville campuses, while also launching TMSA Virtual, providing North Carolina families with a flexible, high-quality online public school option.

We're getting closer to the first day of school, and the excitement is building at TMSA Triad Secondary School

We had wonderful Grade-Level Open House and Orientation sessions, and it was a pleasure welcoming our students and families. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped create such a positive and energetic atmosphere.

We are looking forward to an amazing 2026–2027 school year filled with learning, growth, and success. We can't wait to welcome our students back and begin another incredible year together!

TMSA Senior Expo 2026: Preparing the Class of 2027 for College Success

On Saturday, August 1, TMSA Triad Secondary Campus proudly hosted the TMSA Senior Expo 2026, welcoming rising seniors from the Class of 2027 and their families for an afternoon focused on college and career readiness.

Students participated in interactive workshops covering college applications, essays, financial aid, FAFSA updates, scholarships, career pathways, transfer opportunities, and post-secondary planning.

A special highlight of the event was the Financial Aid Session presented by Dr. JuanEs Ramirez from CFNC, who provided valuable guidance on FAFSA updates, scholarships, merit aid, and financial aid opportunities. To better support our diverse community, separate sessions were offered in both English and Spanish, ensuring that students and families had access to important financial aid information in their preferred language.

More than 700 educators and employees came together to launch the 2026–27 school year at TMSA’s Annual Staff Kickoff!

The day was filled with professional learning, collaboration, inspiring speakers, student performances, and meaningful connections across our growing network. Together, we celebrated last year’s achievements and aligned around four priorities for the year ahead: Student Achievement, Continuous Improvement, Transparency, and Consistency.

TMSA Schools Kick Off the 2026–2027 School Year with Inspiration and Recognition

More than 700 staff members from across TMSA Schools gathered at the The Math and Science Academy of Charlotte in Concord for the TMSA Kickoff 2026–2027, launching the new school year under the inspiring theme:

"United in Purpose: Together We Lead, Together We Rise."

The annual kickoff brought together teachers, administrators, and support staff for a day of inspiration, professional learning, collaboration, and celebration as they prepared for another successful school year. TMSA Board President Victor Ofori-Boadu and TMSA Board Member Carlos Hernandez also attended the event, demonstrating the Board's continued support for the TMSA community and its mission.

The program featured a welcome address by TMSA Superintendent Mr. Ben Karaduman, a keynote presentation by Dr. Nihat Guvercin, Founder and CEO of ILearn Schools, and a motivational speech by nationally recognized speaker and author Gabe Salazar. Their messages encouraged educators to lead with purpose, embrace collaboration, and continue making a lasting impact on students.

One of the highlights of the event was the recognition of outstanding schools across TMSA Public Charter Schools. TMSA Triad Secondary School earned two prestigious awards:

Leadership Opportunities Award – Presented in recognition of empowering educators through leadership, professional growth, and a culture of collaboration that inspires excellence.
Shining Campus & Spirit Award – Presented in recognition of maintaining an outstanding campus environment while inspiring exceptional school pride, unity, and community spirit.

The awards were accepted on behalf of TMSA Triad Secondary School by Mr. Kandil, Interim Executive Regional Director of TMSA Triad. Reflecting on the recognition, Mr. Kandil shared, "These awards belong to the entire TMSA Village at Triad, and I am so proud to be part of such an amazing learning community through which we all shine together."

The 2026–2027 kickoff celebrated the dedication, unity, and commitment of the TMSA Schools community. As educators return to their campuses, they do so with renewed energy and a shared mission to provide students with an outstanding educational experience.

Guided by this year's theme, "United in Purpose: Together We Lead, Together We Rise," TMSA Schools begins the new academic year ready to work together, inspire one another, and continue building a brighter future for every student.

Students from TMSA Triad Secondary Campus (TMSA Triad) proudly represented their school and the United States at the 2026 International STEM Olympiad Grand Final held in Rome, Italy, from July 2–8, 2026. The event welcomed 1,154 participants and guests from 54 countries, bringing together some of the world's brightest young minds to compete in Mathematics, Science, and Coding.

TMSA Public Schools Superintendent Mr. Ben Visits TMSA Triad Campuses

Today, during Staff Workshop Week, TMSA Public Charter Schools Superintendent Mr. Ben visited the TMSA Triad Secondary campus to receive updates on preparations for the upcoming school year. He met with faculty and staff, discussed campus readiness, and expressed his appreciation for their hard work and dedication as they prepare to welcome students back for another successful year.

During the visit, Superintendent Mr. Ben also met with Mr. Kandil, Interim Executive Regional Director of TMSA Triad, and Ms. McDowell, Principal of the TMSA Triad McLeansville Campus, to discuss strategic priorities and final preparations for the new school year.

This afternoon, Superintendent Mr. Ben will visit the new TMSA Triad McLeansville campus construction site to review the progress of the project and ensure it remains on schedule. The visit reflects TMSA's continued commitment to providing a high-quality learning environment and ensuring the new campus is ready to welcome students for the upcoming school year.
