Greensboro Aquatic Center Opened in the summer of 2011, the Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC) is a state-of-the-art facility featuring leading edge concepts in aquatic design.

The GAC is a state-of-the-art facility featuring cutting edge concepts in aquatic design, located on the campus of the Coliseum Complex, the premier sports and entertainment facility in the Southeast. e swimming and diving, water polo, synchronized swimming and other unique sports all in one venue. The GAC fully meets NCAA and FINA standards and will offer Greensboro the opportunity to host high school and collegiate events, USA Swimming meets, Master's swimming and U.S. Water Polo events as well as a myriad of local, regional, national and international competitions. Among the GAC's many features:
-78,323 square feet
-3 bodies of water - competition pool, warm-up pool and diving well
-2,500 seating capacity

🏊‍♀️ FACTS AT THE GAC: 🌊

Did you know the Greensboro Aquatic Center’s competition pool can be rearranged into 10 different configurations using two movable bulkheads? 🤯

From 8 lanes of 50-meter swimming to 22 lanes of 25-yard swimming, the pool can adapt to host a wide variety of competitions and events! 🏆

That’s a whole lot of swimming in one pool! 💦

Today is Throwback Thursday, and we're taking it back to the 2014 AT&T Winter National Championships, held right here at the Greensboro Aquatic Center!

From December 3–6, some of the nation's top swimmers took to the pool at the GAC for four days of championship racing. The meet included a record-breaking performance from 17-year-old , who set American and U.S. Open records in both the 500 and 1,650-yard freestyle. More than a decade later, both times still stand as GAC pool records.

The YMCA National Long Course Swimming Championships are returning to Greensboro! 🏊‍♂️

The Greensboro Aquatic Center is proud to welcome the championship back for the fourth time, July 26–31, 2027.

More than 800 swimmers from across the country are expected to compete at the GAC, bringing athletes, coaches, families and YMCA officials together for six days of championship swimming.

We can't wait to see you there!
