Military Family Appreciation Month is a time set aside to recognize you, the military family.
Military families know what it means to serve. Every day, you get up and support your service member, standing by during long trainings and deployments. You know the risks, but you accept this life of service anyway. You are the backbone of our military. You are the quiet, but steady fuel at home that keeps the fire burning. You keep track of military pay, benefits and news, because you know they make a daily difference in your life. And when your time as an actively serving family comes to an end, you support your veteran.

Military Family Appreciation Month is a time set aside to recognize you, the military family.

World Menopause Day is to raise awareness of the menopause and the support options available for improving health and well being. We encourage professionals and women to participate in this global awareness raising campaign by printing and sharing these materials, organising events to engage their communities, and sharing World Menopause Day social media posts.

Perimenopause, the decade or so before menopause, is when many women experience hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain, and other menopausal symptoms. A woman reaches menopause after not having had a menstrual period for 12 consecutive months.

Women in Military Service for America Memorial Anniversary, celebrated on October 17, is a special day that pays a tribute to the millions of military women who have lost their lives in service. Yes, men aren’t the only saviors during the war and the U.S history includes many females who contributed to success in combat. These military women used their intellect and strength to protect the nation, and are seen as inspirational figures today. This year, honor these brave women by paying a special tribute to their accomplishments in times of war.

Women in Military Service for America Memorial Anniversary honors the women who lost their lives defending the U.S.

The theme for the International Day of Rural Women “Rural Women Cultivating Good Food for All”, highlights the essential role that rural women and girls play in the food systems of the world.

From production of crops to processing, preparing and distributing foods, women’s labour – paid and unpaid – feeds their families, communities and the world. Yet, they do not wield equal power with men, and as a result, they earn less income and experience higher food insecurity.

Despite our planet’s capacity to provide sufficient and good food for all, hunger, malnourishment, and food insecurity are rising in many parts of the world. The COVID-19 pandemic, along with climate crises, have made matters worse: some 2.37 billion people did not have enough to eat in 2020 –that’s 20 per cent more than the year before.

The theme for the International Day of Rural Women (15 October), “Rural Women Cultivating Good Food for All”, highlights the essential role that rural women and girls play in the food systems of the world.

National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month is observed in October each year. This month is dedicated to recognizing the grief and challenges faced by families who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or an infant. It serves as a vital reminder to break the silence surrounding these often-hidden tragedies, offering support and compassion to those who have endured such losses. Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day is observed on October 15th each year, and it includes the International Wave of Light, where people around the world light candles at 7:00 PM in their time zone to honor and remember the babies who have passed away.

OCTOBER IS PREGNANCY, INFANT, AND CHILD LOSS AWARENESS MONTH In 1988, President Ronald Regan proclaimed October Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day is observed on October 15th each year and includes the International Wave of Light. In the United State...

For nearly four decades now, the country has recognized October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is a time annually devoted to educating everyone about breast cancer, including metastatic breast cancer (MBC), and the importance of early detection and access to timely, high-quality care. No matter who you are or where you live, breast cancer may touch your life. It’s necessary to understand the warning signs of breast cancer, your risk of breast cancer and what’s normal for you so you can take action if there are any changes in your breasts or underarm areas.

October is National Breast Cancer Month. A time annually devoted to educating and early detection of breast cancer.
