Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) today introduced Chief Chris Eddy’s Law, a bill directing the Department of Transportation (DOT) to issue regulations requiring placards on all pressurized refrigerated containers following the tragic and avoidable death of Greene County Fire Rescue’s Battalion Chief.

The Greene County Board of Elections has completed the mandatory Risk-Limiting Audit (RLA). The audit confirmed a 100% match between the tabulated results and the hand-counted ballots. In addition to the required RLA, our office conducted an independent audit by hand-counting all ballots cast. This independent review also confirmed that the total number of ballots hand-counted matched the total number of ballots tabulated, further validating the accuracy and integrity of the election results.

The Greene County Senior Center parking lot was packed before the doors even opened this morning as everyone eagerly gathered for this year’s Annual Picnic with the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission. Excitement was in the air as our seniors loaded up and headed to Jackson County to join all 12 senior centers from across the region for a fun-filled day of food, fellowship, music, and memories!

Summer paving season is kicking into high gear! 🚧

Garrett Paving will begin work on Parks Mill Drive tomorrow, then move to Askew Road followed by West Lake Road.

Please expect one-lane traffic in some areas during paving operations and allow extra travel time for delays. Thank you for your patience as these road improvements are completed!
