Greensboro Fire Department responded on Stannard Mountain Road for the report of an unattended fire. Crews searched the area and found a campsite with an unattended fire off the edge of the road. The fire was quickly extinguished and no persons were found in the area. State Police were notified of the event and crews returned to the station.

We are currently discouraging outdoor burning at this time based on the weather. With little rain, higher winds, and dry combustible grass, brush and vegetation on the ground, small fires can quickly spread and grow out of control.
