8/31/26 - 2208
Greensboro Fire responded to a reported one car accident at the intersection of Breezy Ave and Country Club Road. Upon arrival, crews found one vehicle in the ditch with no exposures and no leaking fluids. The occupants had already exited the vehicle and were not injured. They were evaluated by Glover Ambulance Squad, Inc and Caledonia Wrecker Service were called to remove the vehicle. Orleans County Sheriff's Department is looking into the cause of the accident. Crews were clear by 2315.

Training 8/6/26
Last night members practiced initial fire attack drills. This drill covered setting up an engine to draft from a water source, proper deployment of an attack line, and timed breathing apparatus donning. Lt. Anthony Brochu demonstrated the different ways to load and deploy an attack line and instructed members how to quickly and safely don a breathing apparatus.
A second group of members drilled on pump operations. Topics included drafting and equipment staging, maintaining a consistant water supply, and practiced operating the new digital pump controller.

Greensboro Fire Responded with Hardwick Fire Department to the area of Scott Road in Hardwick for a burning tree on the power line. Crews arrived and found a partially uprooted tree burning on the line. Hardwick Electric Department responded quickly to de-energize the line and safely cut the tree off the line. Crews extinguished the charred sections of tree and cleared the scene by 1730. A reminder to never touch or try to remove a tree or object on a power line, and never approach a downed line.

Meeting night looked a little different tonight in Greensboro. Department members suprised Jake Pilbin and Mallory Foss with a fire department baby shower. This is a tradition celebrated over many years within the station. The department gifted them a personalized toy box, and everyone contributed gifts to fill it. Congratulations to you both!

Greensboro Fire and Hardwick Fire Department responded to single vehicle accident on Stannard Mountain Road. The vehicle drifted off the side of the road into the ditch hitting stumps. The driver was extricated and transported to NVRH by Hardwick Emergency Rescue Squad. Vermont State Police are investigating the cause.

Our deepest condolences to our neighboring department and Assistant Chief Bartlett. Christopher attended many mutual aid trainings and was always present at the parades. He was an energetic and enthusiastic young man with a passion for the fire department. Thank you for bringing so much joy to each event. You will be missed.

The members of HFD express our deepest condolences to the family of one of our own. Assistant Chief Bartlett unexpectedly lost his son Christopher last night. Anyone who has spent time around our fire house would have likely met Christopher. Christopher was always smiling, asking about calls, monitoring the radio and enjoying life. Christopher was a part of HFD his entire life and he will be missed by all.

Greensboro Fire responded mutual aid with Hardwick Fire Department and Hardwick Emergency Rescue Squad to the intersection of VT Route 16 and Belfry road for a reported two car accident. A pickup truck and car collided in the intersection. Crews helped extricate the patients from the vehicles and helped with scene cleanup.
