What a meaningful evening centered on connection, inspiration, and the power of women supporting women. 💚

We were honored to be part of the 2026 Women’s Joint Opening with Jewish women from across the Greensboro community at Temple Emanuel, and were inspired by Dr. Paula Freedman-Diamond’s conversation on toxic striving and the importance of creating healthier, more sustainable lives.

We're so grateful for the opportunity to share about the work of the Women’s Resource Center of Greensboro and, most importantly, to reconnect with so many women who have supported WRC over the years as longtime volunteers, donors, advocates, and friends.

A heartfelt thank you to Jewish Family Services of Greensboro for welcoming us and creating such a meaningful space for women to connect and support one another. 💚

👨‍🍳 MEN CAN COOK CHEF FEATURE: BOB WESTON 🍽️

Some chefs sign up for Men Can Cook because they love to cook. Others get "voluntold" into it—and then never look back! 😂

That’s how it started for Bob Weston, who was recruited by Ron Johnson many years ago. Bob participated that first year alongside his former partner, Allen Broach, and quickly discovered what makes Men Can Cook so special: great food, caring people, lots of fun, and an even better cause. After that first event, Bob couldn’t imagine not participating.

His advice to men considering becoming a chef? Be prepared! When the crowd arrives, things can move FAST. Having a plan for serving your dish in bulk can help keep the anxiety levels in check. And above all, Bob says, “Just keep smiling.” 😊

For Bob, one of the best parts of being a Men Can Cook chef is knowing that his participation helps make a difference in our community—while also getting the chance to walk around and sample all the delicious creations from fellow chefs. We can definitely get behind that!

This year, Bob is teaming up with Jerry Rigney to serve up a crostini topped with homemade pesto, mozzarella, fresh tomato, and a balsamic reduction glaze. 🤤

We’re grateful for chefs like Bob who keep coming back year after year to cook, connect, have fun, and support the mission of the Women’s Resource Center of Greensboro.

Come hungry. Leave inspired. And don’t forget to keep smiling! ❤️
