When one of our own fights, nobody stands alone.

This morning, Captain Hannah Johnson was escorted to her procedure surrounded by her GFD family. Hannah was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and today was a reminder of what brotherhood and sisterhood in the fire service truly mean.

This is what it’s all about.

Please keep Captain Johnson, her family, and her GFD crew in your thoughts and prayers as she takes on this fight. Leave your words of encouragement for Hannah in the comments below!

🇺🇸 25 years later, we remember.

Retired FDNY Lt. Mike Ciampo is inviting you to join us for Greensboro’s 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb on September 11 at First National Bank Field.

Gates open at 5 PM | Program at 5:30 PM | Climb at 6 PM

Participants will climb the stadium steps in remembrance of the 343 FDNY firefighters who died at the World Trade Center; symbolically retracing the steps those firefighters took as they climbed the towers on September 11, 2001.

The City of Greensboro thanks Greensboro Grasshoppers for making First National Bank Field available for this event and Piedmont Rotary District 7690 for sponsoring the 2026 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb and for its commitment to service throughout the Piedmont Triad.

You don’t have to climb to show your support. Come be part of the remembrance!
