Ricky’s Hope will provide transitional housing and life skill training for Families, Battered Women that may or may not have children and eventually men as well. We will offer assistance to all residents that have been misplaced due to income situations such as job loss, foreclosure, or mere life changes that did not work out for whatever reason. Within six months to a year the residents will be a

ble to transfer to a home or apartment of their own. Our residents will become completely self-sufficient in many areas through on site job training classes, family and individual counseling and other opportunities of improvement. We will also help anyone that has not obtained their GED to obtain theirs. We will look for ways to assist parents that may have lost their children due to different issues, such as abusive relationships that may have moved into the family unit, and work with the social service offices and other departments to see about replacement once permanent housing has been established. We are here to assist those who feel that they have been left behind by the system. We are here to bring a level life back to the Families and individuals.

The City’s Office of Community Safety and Black Men United invite residents and their families to the Community Giveaway and Resource Event from noon to 3 pm on Saturday, November 23, at Cumberland Courts Park, 479-499 N. Regan St. The event will feature food, music, and giveaway items, such as new clothing, shoes, cleaning supplies, and more.

Attendees can also connect with community-based organizations that will be on site to share information about the services and resources they provide.
