Chief Mike McNealy

Chief Mike McNealy I proudly serve as the Chief of Police in the city of Greensburg Indiana.

Former Greensburg Police Officer Sam Taylor, who served our department from 2023 to 2024 and currently serves Evansville Police Department, was shot and injured over the weekend in Evansville while trying to apprehend a suspect in a stolen car chase. Officer Taylor's brother, Josh Taylor, is still an active member of the Greensburg Police Department.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Sam, Josh, and the entire Taylor family.

Donations and assistance are being collected through a Resource Committee for the Taylor family- inquiries can be sent to any of the following verified emails posted by the Evansville FOP 73:

There have already been numerous calls of trees down in the roadways and local power outages.

Report all power outages using your energy companies App, call Duke Energy at 800.228.8485, Decatur County REMC at 800.844.7362 or contact Decatur County Communications at 812.222.4911

-Keep children and family pets away from areas where lines may have fallen (backyards, fields, schoolyards, etc.).

-If a power line falls across a car that you're in, stay in the car. If you MUST get out of the car due to a fire or other immediate life-threatening situation, do your best to jump clear of the car and land on both feet. Be sure that no part of your body is touching the car when your feet touch the ground.

Thanks to our energy crews at Decatur County REMC and Duke Energy Greensburg as they work through the wind and rain to keep us lighted and warm.

Thanks to our road crews at Greensburg Street Dept., Decatur County Highway Dept., INDOT and the local fire departments who have been responding to remove trees from the roadways.
