An incident involving a gas leak occurred earlier today at the corner of E. Main Street and N. Lathrop Street. Out of an abundance of caution, residents of 15 neighboring homes were evacuated.

We are pleased to report that E. Main Street is now back open to traffic. CenterPoint Energy is currently on-site performing repairs, and the gas has been safely shut off.

Evacuated residents are expected to be able to return to their homes later this afternoon. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as emergency crews work to resolve this issue.

We had an incredible turnout for our first community cookout of the summer. It was fantastic to see so many families, catch up with our neighbors, and cook up pork chops and hot dogs for the community we love to serve.

Beyond the great food, the best part of the evening was getting to chat with all of you, answer questions, and show the kids around the trucks. Days like this remind us why we are so proud to protect this city.

If you couldn't make it to this one, keep an eye on our page—we have plenty more summer fun planned.

Thank you again for the ongoing support, the great conversations, and a wonderful start to the season.
