CFWC Staff was happy to attend the milestone Time Capsule Ceremony celebrating The Palace Theatre. Elected officials recognized the importance of the Palace and joined community members, volunteers, and community leaders in celebrating its incredible legacy.

To honor the Palace’s 100th anniversary, a time capsule was placed inside the ticket booth, to be opened 100 years from now — giving the community of 2126 a chance to look back and see how we celebrated this remarkable milestone. ❤️

Last year, the Ramps of Hope Program built more than 100 wheelchair ramps for families across Indiana County.

To ensure this work continues, the Indiana County Endowment awarded a $4,000 grant to the Ramps of Hope Program. This funding will help cover materials and purchase a used truck to haul the program’s trailer, allowing the team to help even more households in Indiana County.

The Indiana County Endowment launched a fundraising campaign this summer to increase its grantmaking to vital programs like Ramps of Hope. The goal is to raise at least $25,000, which will trigger a matching donation of $25,000 by a generous individual.

The Westco Nonprofit Network welcomed roughly 100 guests from local nonprofits to connect with each other and enjoy a tour of the historic Palace Theater in Greensburg. Special thanks to Westmoreland Cultural Trust.

On Wednesday, Westmoreland County nonprofit leaders and their board members gathered at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art to learn more about collaborative leadership between executive directors and their boards.

The Jeannette Public Library is putting a $50,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Westmoreland County to work, purchasing 30 laptops to help patrons develop critical digital skills for free at their own pace.

Access to technology and digital literacy are fundamental to economic opportunity. We are proud to support initiatives like this one that strengthen our local communities.

Critical Needs Alert is TODAY! Let's show the world the generous spirit of our region by visiting www.PittsburghGives.org to donate before 11:59 p.m.

Critical Needs Alert is a major fundraising event for the more than 200 nonprofits participating from Westmoreland and Allegheny counties. Some of these organizations will raise a majority of their operating budgets today as they work to support our neighbors by providing food, child care, employment services, housing support and health care to families and individuals who need assistance.

Last year, nonprofits raised $1.86 million. Let's beat that total in support of our neighbors.

Early giving for Critical Needs alert is open! You can visit www.pittsburghgives.org now through Aug. 4 to leave a gift for any of the nearly 200 nonprofits that are participating.

This fundraiser supports nonprofits in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties that offer direct service in five areas that strengthen essential human services: child care, food access, housing protection, employment and healthcare.

This is an important year because many of our local nonprofits have been negatively impacted by federal funding cuts and policy changes to safety net programs like SNAP and Medicaid.
