Greensburg Police Department is responsible for responding to calls for service and is the primary law enforcement agency in the City of Greensburg.

🚨🚨🚨Traffic Advisory🚨🚨🚨 - KY 88 Intermittent Closures in Green County.

Maintenance crews are working to repair an embankment slide along KY 88 at the Little Barren Bridge near the Green/Hart County Line.

Work began (Monday, August 24th) with steel being delivered to the worksite. A few lane closures will take place through the midday and afternoon.

Today (August 25th), drilling will begin for steel placement. Drilling operations will be set from the roadway and require intermittent closures of approximately an hour during each occurrence for both directions.

Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes based on their destination. Message boards are set at critical detour points to the west and east of the location to provide advance notice of work ahead. Please slow down, pay close attention to signage and be prepared for stopped or slowly moving vehicles.

Repair work is expected to take around two weeks to complete.

The Green County E-911 Center along with other 911 centers in our area are currently dealing with an outage of 911 phone lines involving verizon wireless.

If you have an emergency, you can still call 911 and it will come through our Admin phone lines. If two or more calls are active through our admin lines you will receive a busy signal. Please hang up and call 911 again until you are able to get through to one of our dispatchers.

We hope this issue is resolved quickly by Verizon and will update this post when it is resolved. We appreciate you for your understanding during this outage.

Today we celebrate Officer Tayvion Mitchell’s graduation from the Department of Criminal Justice Training.

Officer Mitchell completed 20 weeks of training and graduated with a physical fit for duty pin.

Officer Mitchell is a wonderful addition to GPD and we are excited to have him back home. Help me in congratulating Officer Mitchell.

🚨🚨 Roadway Update🚨🚨

Greensburg PD wants residents to be aware of a partial opening of West Hodgenville Ave (Town Hill).

You will encounter a stop and go light at each end of the closure, the lights are set on timers that will allow one lane of traffic to pass at any given time.

Please be aware and careful when traveling in this area, and obey the traffic signals.

GPD will have officers patrolling this area frequently, and will possibly cite any violations observed.
