Today, crews from the Hempfield Fire Department spent time at Towne Square Senior Apartments working with residents and staff on fire and life safety education while also conducting a scheduled fire drill.

These visits are an important part of keeping our community prepared and helping residents feel confident in what to do during an emergency.
Crews reviewed evacuation procedures, answered questions, discussed smoke alarms and fire prevention, and emphasized the importance of having a plan before an emergency happens.

We appreciate the staff and residents for welcoming us and for their participation during today’s drill. Community partnerships like these help make everyone safer.

This Memorial Day, the Hempfield Fire Department pauses to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage, dedication, and willingness to lay down their lives for the freedoms we cherish today will never be forgotten.

To the families who carry the weight of that loss, we stand with you. Your loved ones' sacrifices are woven into the fabric of every community they swore to protect, including ours.

As firefighters, we understand the call to serve something greater than ourselves. We see in our nation's fallen heroes the same spirit that drives first responders, military members, and public servants everywhere: the belief that some things are worth running toward, even when others run away.

Please take a moment today, whether at a parade, a cemetery, a backyard gathering, or in quiet reflection, to remember that Memorial Day is more than the start of summer. It's a sacred day of remembrance, paid for by those who never made it home.

Our part-time staff members love keeping Hempfield safe, but they also love getting out to enjoy Hempfield's incredible community spaces.

Some of our team spent time over at the brand-new Founders Park, catching up with neighbors, chatting with kids, and enjoying the beautiful day. Whether we're responding to a call or just out saying hello, building strong connections with the community we serve is at the heart of what we do.

During EMS Week, we would like to recognize and thank all EMS professionals, both within our organization and our surrounding EMS partners, for their dedication to serving our community each and every day.

From emergency medical calls to major incidents, the teamwork between fire and EMS is critical. We are incredibly proud of the EMS professionals who answer the call day and night with professionalism, compassion, and commitment.

To our own EMS providers at Hempfield Fire Department, thank you for the care you provide and the sacrifices you make for our community. To all of our EMS partners, thank you for standing beside us and working together to keep our residents and visitors safe.

Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Due to weather conditions, the hot air balloons will not be inflating tonight. However, we’re excited to still offer an interactive balloon experience.🎈✨

Guests are invited to come meet the pilots, ask questions, and take photos in the balloon baskets until 8:00 PM. While the balloons won’t be glowing, we still want everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy and learn more about them up close!

And good news, the fireworks show is still on and will begin at 9:00 PM! 🎆

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and look forward to seeing you tonight at Founders Park! 💚
