Greensburg Celebrates National Home Care Month

Today, I was thrilled to once again join the staff of Amedysis to help celebrate National Home and Hospice Care Month in Greensburg. Their staff and those of the other Home Health Care agencies in the area provide a valuable service to the people of Greensburg and Green County.

Please join me in thanking them for their care and attention to our friends and family. Their's is a true calling and love for their fellow neighbors.

It's the 100th Veteran's Day - Take the time to thank a Veteran!

Although yesterday was technically Veterans Day, it is being celebrated across our great land today. I wanted to stop and take time to thank all of our veterans for their service in protecting America.

It doesn't matter whether you are a Democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian or support no party at all. It doesn't matter your ethnicity, or your religion. We all owe a debt of gratitude to those men and women who serve and have served. Countless thousands have given their lives in protection of that great experiment called Democracy.

Democracy is hard and, despite the fact that it has lasted over 200 years. No one works harder or commits more to its preservation than the veterans of our military. Each and every time you come across a veteran or someone now serving, be sure and thank them for their service.

Halloween Trick or Treating and Oktoberfest Events Update

Based on the changes in the current weather forecast, which has now pushed the highest probability of rain into Thursday, the City and County are planning on moving forward with Halloween Trick or Treating hours and the Oktoberfest on the Square as originally scheduled tomorrow, Wednesday, October 31st - All Hallows Eve.

If there are any drastic changes to the weather forecast, we will again notify the public of any changes at that time.

Halloween - Oktoberfest Update

In talking with Judge Frank, we have decided the best way to move forward with both Halloween Trick or Treating and the Oktoberfest scheduled for downtown on Court St., is to keep the current schedule for Wednesday, October 31st and re-evaluate closer to Wednesday.

If the weather continues to be a safety concern at that time, the alternative day will be Friday, November 2nd with the same schedule of events. We felt this would allow more time for parents to make adjustments to their schedules if needed.

Please share this post and check back closer to Wednesday for continued updates. We want everyone to have a happy and safe Halloween experience!
