This afternoon, the Greensburg/Green County Fire & Rescue Department spent time training on water supply operations. Training like this is essential to making sure we are prepared, efficient, and ready to respond when our community needs us most. By continuing to practice and improve our skills, we are better able to serve and protect the people of our community. We are proud to put in the work today so we can provide the best service possible tomorrow.

Training Announcement!!

State Fire Rescue Training District 14 will be offering a Large Animal Rescue Class hosted by Campbellsville/Taylor County Fire Departments on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at the Campbellsville Fire Department Training Center located at 130 Trace Creek Road, Campbellsville, KY. Class will begin at 9:00 AM Eastern Time.

This classroom and hands-on class will cover Incident Command Systems related to large animal incidents, animal behavior and anatomy, containment techniques, rope rescue methods for large animals, and specialized techniques for safely moving large animals during emergency situations.

Students should bring appropriate footwear with steel toe boots, helmets, eye protection, and work gloves.

A dispatch to Long Hunters Camp Rd. just after midnight prompted Green County Fire Rescue to respond to a fully involved vehicle. One apparatus and five personnel arrived, successfully extinguishing the fire and providing cleanup, with no injuries reported. Assistance was provided to the by, Green County Sheriff's Department, and Whitney's Towing.
