We are saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Samuel Haywood, a candidate for the District 3 School Board Member position. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him during this difficult time.
Pursuant to Louisiana Revised Statute 18:469(A), when a qualified candidate dies, qualifying must be reopened on the day following the Secretary of State's receipt of actual notice of the candidate's death. Qualifying for the District 3 School Board Member election will reopen Tuesday, August 18, 2026, through Thursday, August 20, 2026.
Individuals interested in qualifying may do so at the St. Helena Parish Clerk of Court's Office during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For additional information regarding qualifications and filing requirements, please contact the Clerk's Office at (225) 222-4521.
