Ray Thacker has been a paramedic at the Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) since 2016.

In that role, Thacker provides medical support to students and CDP staff members and performs various occupational health services tasks.

Thacker joined the fire services in 1989 and earned his emergency medical technician license in 1990. He is also certified as a fire instructor and in hazardous materials and high angle rope rescue.

Prior to assuming his current position, Thacker worked as a Lifesaver flight paramedic from 2001 to 2013 and as the track ambulance supervisor for the Talladega Superspeedway from 2008 through 2014.

“This is one of the best jobs I’ve ever had,” Thacker said of the CDP. “It’s fast-paced enough to keep me busy, but not so fast-paced that I am exhausted at night.”

After the determination of the essential need for access to cold drinking water to promote life.

Our squad has placed “Emergency Water Stations” which contain sealed bottled water and ice throughout the City of Greenville.

These coolers and water containers have been placed in areas of easy access for our vulnerable populations and are fully marked as being placed by ENCRS.

Local community members have been designated as “Water Station Marshalls” to ensure that the coolers are safe and being refilled.

These station and coolers will be refilled every 24-48 hours with fresh sealed water bottles and ice until the month of September, 2022.
