๐Ÿš’ EXCITING NEWS FOR RED OAK: Investing in Firefighter Health & Safety! ๐Ÿš’

We are thrilled to announce that the Red Oak Community Rural Fire Dept., Inc. has been officially awarded a $7,934.50 grant through the 2026 Volunteer Fire Grant Fund from the State of North Carolina!

State Fire Marshal Brian Taylor officially announced the award today. We will be using these vital funds to purchase a dedicated Turnout Gear Washer and Dryer.

Why is this equipment a game-changer for our department?
Firefighters encounter dangerous, cancer-causing toxins and carcinogens at every fire scene, which get trapped inside their protective suits. This specialized gear washer (extractor) and dryer system will allow our volunteers to properly decontaminate and dry their gear immediately after a call.
This protects our team from long-term health risks like cancer, prevents severe steam burns, and ensures our gear is safely maintained to the highest national safety standards (NFPA 1851).

A huge thank you to the Office of State Fire Marshal for supporting our department!
Most importantly, thank you to our communityโ€”by keeping our gear clean, we can stay healthy and ready to protect you 24/7!
