The Center for Family Violence Prevention is a 501 C 3, public charity, serving domestic violence survivors in Pitt, Martin and Washington Counties. Through crisis intervention and education services, survivors are able to break free from the violence and abuse to embark on a journey of healing and self-empowerment. Our mission is to break the cycle of domestic violence while enhancing individual self-sufficiency and promoting healthy family relationships in our community.

We are very grateful for the support of the Pitt County, NC Board of Commissioners.

Last night they recognized October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the work that the Center of Family Violence Prevention does to break the cycle of domestic violence in our community.

The Pitt County Board of Commissioners has officially proclaimed October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month, encouraging all citizens to stand together in the fight against personal and institutional violence. This proclamation was adopted on October 20, 2025.
