A huge thank you to Pam Alexander Powell for joining us at last week's meeting!

Pam serves as the Executive Event Chair for the Greenville Walk to End Alzheimer's, where she leads a dedicated team of volunteers committed to advancing the vital mission of the Alzheimer's Association.

A retired high school teacher of 35 years, Pam has continued her lifelong passion for education and serving others through volunteer leadership and community engagement. Beyond her incredible work fighting Alzheimer's, she is a fellow member of the Rotary Club of Greenville, volunteers at Alexander Elementary School, and serves on the mission committee at her church.

Having experienced the effects of dementia within her own family, Pam is deeply passionate about increasing awareness, funding research, and ensuring that no family faces this disease alone. We were honored to hear her story and learn how we can support the cause. She invites everyone in our community to join the fight to end Alzheimer's!

Thank you again, Pam, for your incredible leadership and for inspiring our club!

We often say that Rotarians are friends with a purpose. Events like our Happy Hour give us the chance to get to know each other beyond the projects, committees, and volunteer hours, helping us build the trust and friendships that make our club stronger.

On Saturday, August 22, our members rolled up their sleeves for our 3rd Quarter Highway Cleanup to help keep Greenville beautiful. The team gathered at 333 Wade Hampton Blvd. at 8:30 a.m. to map out our routes and organize gear, while fueling up for the morning with fresh donuts and hot coffee. By 9:00 a.m., we hit the pavement and spent the morning clearing litter along our adopted stretch of road. It was a fantastic morning of fellowship, teamwork, and hands-on community service, proving once again that Rotarians are truly People of Action. Thank you to everyone who came out early to make a visible difference in our local community!

Today, eight of our Rotary Club members took a quick hour-long field trip to visit our friends at The Salvation Army!

We had the opportunity to tour their administrative offices and look inside the men’s and women’s homeless shelters on-site.

The team also gave us a fantastic overview of the other vital facilities and programs operating on the property.

Seeing the sheer scope of the work they do right here in our community was incredibly eye-opening. We are so grateful for the tour and for everything The Salvation Army does to provide hope, shelter, and support to those who need it most.

Rotary Field Trip Alert: We are meeting ON-SITE this week!

We’re heading out for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of the Salvation Army facilities on Rutherford Street.

Come see firsthand how this organization impacts our community every single day. Here is everything you need to know:

We are meeting at the Salvation Army Administrative Building at 501 Rutherford Street (right next door to the Channel 4 building).at 7:30 a.m. for a quick overview and talk about the property.

Running late? Don't sweat it. We will be at the 501 building for at least 10–15 minutes before moving for a guided tour of the shelter next door, followed by time for your questions.

Breakfast is on us (Chick-fil-A!). Want breakfast? We've got you covered with custom Chick-fil-A orders!
