The Greenville Humane Society is hosting a free two-day Feral Cat TNR event this Friday and Saturday. Drop off is early and pick up times are spread out throughout the day. There might be increased traffic delays on Airport Road. Please plan accordingly.
It is definitely an important event to prevent huge feral cat population problems in our communities.
Two Days to Go!
This powerful, community-wide TNR effort kicks off the day after tomorrow, and weβre ready to make a BIG impact together. ππ
Greenville County Animal Care and Greenville Humane Society are teaming up February 27 & 28 to help control the feral cat population and improve the lives of hundreds of community cats - and the neighborhoods we all share.
π
February 27 & 28
β’ 125 cats per shelter, per day
β’ 500 total surgeries over two days
β’ Maximum of 4 cats per household
Both spays and neuters will be performed. Every cat will receive lifesaving surgery and an ear tip, the universal sign that a community cat has been sterilized and vaccinated.
π Important Reminders:
β’ Cats must arrive in a humane feral trap (no carriers or crates)
β’ Check-in begins at 7:30 AM at both locations
β’ Pick-up times will be provided at drop-off
Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) is the most humane and effective way to reduce community cat populations, prevent future litters, and create healthier neighborhoods - all while easing the burden on local shelters and animal control.
If you care for outdoor cats or know of a colony nearby, this is your chance to make a real, lasting difference.
Letβs show what our community can do when we come together. ππ
