College Republicans is the nation’s oldest, largest, and most active youth political organization. Founded in 1892, there are currently over 200,000 College Republicans around the country on 1,800+ campuses in every state and the District of Columbia. As a national organization we aim to support the Republican Party and become future leaders of the conservative movement. College Republicans are pa
rt of the grassroots arm of the Republican Party – the counterbalance to unions and left-wing interest groups. The history of the ECU College Republicans can be traced back to 1952, when the East Carolina Young Republicans Club was founded at then East Carolina College. Since then it has been our mission to represent the Republican Party on the campus of East Carolina University with decency, honesty, and respect to others. We are committed to helping elect Republican candidates to all levels of government and furthering the Republican message on campus, in our state and nationally. We are committed to promoting East Carolina by being well-rounded students that achieve excellence in both our academic and extracurricular activities and represent the Republican Party well in the classroom, our Greek organizations, athletic teams, and all other endeavors. Our members are dedicated to the timeless Republican principles of citizenship, personal responsibility, traditional values, and the fair treatment of all. ECU College Republicans is designed to give the opportunity for students to continue or freshly start their activity in local, regional, & national politics, with specific emphasis on the local community which directly affects us as students.
