Fire Hydrant Flushing Throughout City of Greenville

The City of Greenville will be flushing the water main and distribution system. Flushing will begin Monday, September 14, 2026, and continue through Friday, October 23, 2026. The City will be flushing fire hydrants from the water plant to the water towers and working outwards from the water towers toward the end of the water mains. Residents may experience some discoloration in the water during this process. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call Jason Heckman, Public Works Supervisor, at 618-664-1644 or the Water Plant at 618-699-8328.

Public Notice – Statements of Candidacy

Statements of candidacy and nomination petitions for two Council member offices for the City of Greenville are available in the office of the City Clerk at the Greenville Municipal Building, 404 S. Third Street between the hours of 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. The filing period for these petitions will be November 16th through November 23rd, 2026, in the office of the City Clerk during regular business hours. The Consolidated General Election will be held April6, 2026.

The Greenville City-Wide Yard Sale will be held Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19 and is open to all city residents.

The maps will be available beginning Thursday, September 17 at the city of Greenville Municipal Building or the Greenville Police Department located at 404 S. Third Street.

Participants are reminded that yard sale signs should only be posted on private property with the owner’s consent and that it is illegal to post signs on city utility poles, street sign poles, or signal light poles.
