Smith and Mills Fire Update (NOW combined as the Gold Complex Fire)

Plumas County has activated the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). This is managed by the Plumas County Office of Emergency Services.

Today, PCSO coordinated with the USFS to issue evacuation orders and warning based on the fire activity and information at the time. At this time all current orders and warning remain in effect for the evening. PCSO will continuously work with fire personnel to monitor the situation and make necessary changes when it is safe to do so. Multiple engines, firefighting crews, dozers and aircraft are fighting the fires with more resources on order, including from Cal Fire and other agencies. An incident management team is being ordered tonight.

Shelter: A shelter has been opened at the Quincy High School located at 6 Quincy Junction Road in Quincy, CA.

Animal Shelter: Animals can be taken to the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds for shelter.

Evacuated areas are being patrolled by local and out of area law enforcement officers to ensure the safety and security of the evacuated areas. If you decided to stay in an evacuated area, please do not drive around and explore the area.

If you are not signed up for Plumas Genasys alerts, please do so! Fire season is among us and we want you to be prepared!

Hello community partners:

IVCSD anticipates our contractor, Chester-based Dig It Construction, will begin work next week on our Greenville Water Line Replacement Project. Beginning in the coming weeks and lasting through late July there will be traffic controls at various times on the following streets and roads in town:

-North and South Main
-Bush
-Hot Springs
-Throughout the flats

This project will provide long-term stability for Greenville’s drinking water system by replacing a significant portion of our main and lateral lines. These replacements will allow our field staff to shift to a proactive work model instead of constantly reacting to leaks and other issues. This approximately $2.7 million project is funded by grants from Upper Feather River Integrated Regional Water Management/Plumas County and the State of California’s Small Communities Drought Relief Program.

Please contact myself or Utility Manager Mike Sundby with any questions and please feel free to share this information with your networks.

Thank you

Adam Cox | General Manager
