Celebrate the New Year safely! Fireworks are best enjoyed at public displays run by professionals. Even legal fireworks can be dangerous and cause serious injuries—especially to children—and start thousands of fires each year.
If you choose to celebrate:
✔️ Never use fireworks while impaired
✔️ Keep children away from fireworks
✔️ Wear eye protection and keep water nearby
✔️ Never use illegal fireworks
🔥 Sparklers are not toys—they burn at 2,000°F and cause serious burns to young children. Consider safer alternatives like glow sticks.
🍾 Celebrate responsibly: have a designated driver or use a rideshare app.
Sit back, relax, and let the experts handle the fireworks. Stay safe and Happy New Year! 🎇

This Saturday evening, the Explorers took part in some training, focusing primarily on ladders and rescuing the rescuer. They took turns recognizing key parts of a ladder, along with the proper one-man and two-man methods of deploying a ladder. This included the 3 main carries, beam raise, and flat raise. For the RTR portion, they practiced pack conversions, the tow truck, bear crawl, and some other methods of carrying a firefighter, including the incline drag, extremity carry, and webbing drag. Great job everyone!

The July recap for Belmont Juniors:

In the month of July we had some big improvements and changes made within the structure and the way the program was gonna be ran. The program had one of its very own make it through the Greenville city summer program for becoming a certified firefighter (Abby) and one of programs former members now a volunteer with our department (Sean). Congratulations to the both of you, you will go far in your career! As for the rest of our beloved program we standardized at least two trainings a month and a strong emphasis on doing our gear drills and preparation for the explorer competitions to come. I’m very proud of these young men and women, their dedication to being better and learning as much as they can really has blown me away! Look forward to seeing more of us as we continue to become better and stronger as a group!

Thanks, Post Leader Tucker Bedingfield
