Darke County Highway Department The Darke County Highway Department maintain 522 miles of roads and 518 bridges. The Darke County Highway Dept. maintains 521 miles of roads and 531 bridges.

We are second in the state to amount of road miles and first in the state for bridge responsibility. Combined road and bridge responsibility puts us 10th in the nation of all counties. Our department employs 26 men who complete daily tasks of bridge replacement, asphalt repairs, mowing, snow removal, any task related to road and bridge maintenance.
