Elmhurst Updates and Reminders-Week of 8/31/26:

We had a phenomenal first week of school! We are so proud of our students already. Thank you all for supporting us and helping us kickstart the year in a positive way.

We have a few car line reminders. Please make sure that you pull all the way down when you drop off in the morning. Stopping nearest to your child’s classroom door creates holdups for the rest of the line. This week will be the last week that walkups will be allowed. After this week, all students will be expected to arrive by bus or in the car line, unless walking directly from a home in the nearby neighborhood.

Picture Day will be on September 1, 2026. This will be your child’s yearbook photo.

Please remember to pay your school fees. These can be accessed in school cash online.

There will be no school on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day.

Elmhurst Updates and Reminders-Week of 8/24/26:

Tomorrow is the first day of school. We cannot wait to have our students back on campus!

We will begin opening car doors in the car line at 7:25. Please do not let your child exit the car before staff are outside to supervise them. Our tardy bell will ring at 7:45. During the first couple of weeks of school, the car line will likely move slowly for both arrival and dismissal. Please be patient as we work to safely load and unload the children and do not pass around cars in the drop off area. Kinder and First grade students may use the car line in the back of the school (as was done last year), once the buses have left campus.

Families may walk their students to class for the first week of school. Please be cautious as you park and walk around campus, and be watchful for students who are walking to class. All students will be expected to use the bus or car line beginning on September 8th-no walk ups will be allowed after this date.

Dismissal Reminders:

All car tags for your children should be displayed in your front dashboard. Students should have received a new car tag at Open House-please display the new tag, not last year's tag. Please enter the car line at the back of the line. Do not use side streets or the front entrance to skip the line. It will disrupt the order in which we call students, and the letter to which each student will be asked to report to. Once your child is in your car, please wait for the entire group to exit the parking lot-do not pull around the cars to get ahead. As a reminder-all students must load on the passenger side of the car, and drivers should remain in the car. No students will be allowed to walk around the vehicle, between cars.

Bus riders, please be sure to be outside at your designated spot a least 10-15 minutes ahead of time during the first week of school. The bus times will level out, but it will take a couple of weeks for the time to be very consistent. Please reach out to Ms. May if you have any bus questions or concerns.

Labor Day weekend will be September 5th-7th. There will be no school on September 7th.

Elmhurst Updates and Reminders-Week of 8/17/26:

As we get ready for another great school year, we’re excited to welcome you all back! We hope you had an awesome summer full of fun, relaxation, and unforgettable moments.

Please save the date for our annual Open House event. This is a time for you and your child to come meet their teacher for the upcoming school year. Open House will be held from 4:00-6:30 on August 20th. If you did not receive your letter and teacher assignment yet, we will be able to assist you at Open House.

If you are the first car to line up, please wait at the turn before entering into the back parking lot, by the playground to leave room for the buses to enter.

Families may walk their students to class for the first two weeks of school. You may park in the grass lot near the mobile unit if you wish to do this, or in the gravel lot. All students will be expected to use the bus or car line beginning on September 8th-no walk ups will be allowed after this date.

Kindergarten students will use a staggered entry-this will apply to Traditional Kindergarten and Spanish Immersion. Students with last names beginning with A-L will attend on Monday, August 24th. Students with last names beginning with M-Z will attend on Tuesday, August 25th. All Kindergarten students will attend on Wednesday, August 26th.

At your earliest convenience, please log in to your parent portal infinite campus apps to update your student information. You will need to complete an update for each child enrolled. If you are not yet signed up for the infinite campus parent portal app, please use the attached flyer to sign up.
