π¨β° IMPORTANT CHANGE TO MORNING ARRIVAL & TARDY PROCEDURES! β°π¨
ππ Lakeforest Families, PLEASE READ! ππ
We want to make all families aware of an IMPORTANT CHANGE to our morning arrival procedures that will begin NEXT WEEK!
As a reminder, our tardy bell has always rung at 7:45 AM. However, we are making an important change to how we determine whether students are on time.
π WHAT IS CHANGING?
Previously, we considered the last car entering our school driveway at 7:45 AM to be on time. This has often resulted in approximately 20 additional cars still waiting to unload AFTER the tardy bell has rung.
Beginning next week, this will no longer be our procedure.
β° Students MUST be PHYSICALLY INSIDE the school building BEFORE the 7:45 AM bell rings to be considered on time.
Being in the driveway, waiting in the car line, or even pulling up to the unloading area at 7:45 AM does NOT mean your child is on time. If your child has not physically entered the building when the bell rings, they will be marked TARDY.
π WHAT DO PARENTS NEED TO DO?
Please plan to arrive WELL BEFORE 7:45 AM to allow enough time to wait in the car line, unload your child, and ensure they enter the building before the bell rings.
πͺ Our school doors open at 7:15 AM, giving families a 30-minute arrival window.
πΆββοΈ Beginning at 7:45 AM, staff members will be transitioning to their instructional groups. Parents arriving after 7:45 AM MUST park and walk their child into the building.
π WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
Instruction begins promptly at 7:45 AM. Our 7:45β8:10 AM intervention block provides targeted instruction and support that is essential to student achievement. When students arrive late, they miss valuable instructional time.
ππ Every minute matters!
We recognize that this is a significant change from how our morning car line has previously operated, and we want to communicate these expectations clearly so families can plan accordingly.
Please adjust your morning routines NOW to ensure your child is INSIDE the building before 7:45 AM each day.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued support as we work together to maximize learning time for ALL students! ππ
