CPR really can save lives, and a recent story out of Coppell is a powerful reminder. ❤️

Nasir “Nas” Brobby collapsed while playing basketball with his friend, Jace Giles. Jace knew CPR, jumped into action, and started chest compressions right away. Doctors credited that immediate CPR as one of the reasons Nas survived.

That is powerful. 💪

A big shoutout to our fire friends at Coppell Fire Department City of Coppell Texas and Coppell Life Safety Park, where Jace learned the skills that helped save his friend’s life. That is public education doing exactly what it is meant to do.

Nas said it best: “better to know how to do it and not need it, than need it, and not know how to do it.”

As part of our CPR classes for our city employees, we have several classes open to the public! School is out, schedules are a little different, and summer is a great time to make CPR a family event. Bring your teen, bring your spouse, bring a friend, or bring the person you hope never needs to use it, but will be glad they learned it.

Upcoming CPR classes:

📅 May 28
📅 June 2
📅 June 4
📅 June 5

If you can't make any of these classes, our public classes are held once a month. Check back at the link for future dates.

Classes are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Cost is $65 per person.

On this Police Memorial Day, Greenville Fire-Rescue pauses to honor the brave law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

Today, we especially remember our own Greenville Police Officer Cooper Dawson. His courage, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We stand with our brothers and sisters at the Greenville, TX Police Department, and with every family, agency, and community carrying the weight of a line-of-duty loss. 💙

WOW, Greenville! ❤️🚒

Thank you to everyone who came out today and helped make our Grand Opening such a huge success! We are incredibly thankful to be part of a community that shows up, supports public safety, and celebrates this investment with us.

From the live demonstrations to the KidZone, hot dogs, giveaways, and all the smiling faces, it was a day we will not forget!

We also want to give a special thank you to our event photographers, who were kind enough to come out and capture the day for us. We’ll be sharing more photos next week once we receive them, so stay tuned!

Thank you, Greenville, for supporting your fire department. We are proud to serve you. 🚒❤️

This old girl is all tucked in after having a spa day. 🥰 She’s ready to see everybody tomorrow and no doubt there’ll be people here who used to see her running up and down the streets of Greenville. We might even have a retired firefighter or two on hand who could tell you some stories about driving her through the rain and snow!

Last sleep before Grand Opening!

We truly hope you join us! ❤️🚒

Are we posting about the Grand Opening tomorrow?

Nope. Not us. Never. Couldn’t be. 👀🚒

We’re actually here to tell you that Greenville Fire-Rescue has several CPR class opportunities coming up at the end of May and into June while we also conduct our annual employee CPR classes.

But since we’re already here on Facebook… it probably won’t hurt to mention the Grand Opening details one more time, just in case there is someone in a 500-mile radius who hasn’t seen it yet. 😉

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, May 9, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 6600 Monty Stratton Parkway for the Grand Opening of our new Fire Administration, Training Complex, and Emergency Operations Center!

We’ll have live demonstrations, tours, hot dogs, chips, drinks, KidZone, safety information, giveaways, and more throughout the day. 🚒🌭🎉

Now back to our regularly scheduled CPR reminder:

CPR classes are held at the Fire Administration Building, 6600 Monty Stratton Parkway, across from the Greenville High School football stadium. Class time is 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and the cost is $65 per person.

Emergencies don’t check your calendar, your job title, or whether you “meant to learn CPR someday.” This is your sign. ❤️
