Darke Co Economic Development is the contact point for new or existing businesses seeking assistance with an expansion, relocation, or any other type of development project. Darke County Economic Development (DCED) is the organization charged with economic and business development in Darke County, Ohio. The organization was formed in 1995 by the Darke County Board of Commissioners to encourage business investment and job creation and retention in the county. DCED can assist your company with Site & Building Selection Assistance, Information and Assistance on Business Incentives, Grants and Tax Incentives, Assistance with Industrial/Business Expansion, Labor Force Information, Community Profiles and Other Community Information, and Financial Assistance.

🌟 Investing in the Next Generation of Leaders! 🌟

The first-ever Darke County Youth Leadership Conference brought together 100 high school juniors and seniors for a day of leadership development, teamwork, and connection!

Hosted by The Light Foundation and Darke County Economic Development, the conference centered on “Leading with Honor: Lessons from the Front Lines.” Students heard from experienced leaders and participated in team-building challenges designed to strengthen communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

➡️ Cylindrical Grinder Technician/Operator (CGTO) / Craft Workers — $30–$35/hour
➡️ 1st Shift CNC Machinist — $27/hour
➡️ 2nd Shift CNC Machinist — $29/hour including shift differential
➡️ 2nd Shift Die Cast — $24.50/hour including shift differential

Ohio employers, this is another opportunity to invest in your workforce and build the technology skills your business needs. The latest TechCred application period is open October 1–30, 2026. Eligible employers can receive reimbursement for employees who earn approved, technology-focused credentials.

💡 What’s in it for your business?
• Reimbursement of up to $1,000 per credential, per employee
• Up to $30,000 per employer per application period
• A chance to upskill your current workforce and strengthen your talent pipeline
