Eastern Carolina Injury Prevention Program - Safe Kids Pitt County A global network of organizations whose mission is to prevent accidental childhood injury, a leading killer of children 19 years and under.

The Eastern Carolina Injury Prevention Program, known as ECIPP, was established in 1995 as a joint effort between the University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina Trauma Center and the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University Department of Emergency Medicine. The program is housed at Vidant Medical Center and strives to improve the health of area citizens by reducing the incidence and

impact of injuries. The common goal of Safe Kids across the US as well as Pitt County is to prevent death and reduce injuries in their communities in partnership with many community agencies in the following risk areas:

-Injury Prevention
-Child Passenger Safety
-Bicycle Safety
-Halloween Safety
-Pedestrian Safety
-Water Safety
-Teen Driving Safety
