Greenville Man Pleads to Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor

Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Cindy S. Crick states that on June 15, 2026, Dana Andrea Jenkins (57) pled guilty to Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor, First Degree. The Honorable Jessica A. Salvini sentenced him to twenty-five years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Jenkins will be required to register as a s*x offender upon release. Evidence presented during the plea by Assistant Solicitor Courtney Rea established that in August of 2024, the four-year old child disclosed to her mother that Jenkins s*xually assaulted her while she was at his home, which operated as an in-home daycare facility in Greenville County. The victim’s mother immediately took the child to the hospital, where a Sexual Assault Nurse was able to perform a medical-forensic exam. Jenkins’ DNA was located which corroborated the child’s disclosure of the incident. Investigator Ashland Dunn with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Crimes Against Children Unit investigated the case.

Greenville County Man Convicted of Homicide by Child Abuse

Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Cindy S. Crick states that on June 12, 2026, a Greenville County jury convicted Deaundre M. Brown, Sr. of Homicide by Child Abuse. The Honorable G.D. Morgan sentenced Brown to thirty-five years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Evidence presented during the trial by Deputy Solicitor Christy Kednocker Sustakovitch and Assistant Solicitor Caroline Kneece established that on September 21, 2021, deputies responded to Prisma Hospital in reference to a severely injured 3-month-old baby. Doctors discovered the infant suffered retinal hemorrhages and blunt force brain injuries, and died several days later as a result of those injuries. Law enforcement conducted an extensive investigation, where it was determined the injuries occurred while in the care and custody of Brown, the child’s biological father. Lieutenant Robert Grubbs with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.

Greenville Man Pleads to Attempted Murder and Armed Robbery

Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Cindy S. Crick states that on June 11, 2026, David Travell Deshawn Burris (23) plead guilty to Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery, two counts of Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime, Conspiracy, and Grand Larceny. The Honorable Perry H. Gravely sentenced Burris to thirty years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Evidence presented during the plea during by Assistant Solicitors Gustaf Olson and Anthony McCollum established that on January 6, 2022, Burris and a codefendant stole a car from a pizza delivery driver, who was then shot in the leg. Then on February 8, 2022, Burris approached another victim while wearing a ski mask and armed with a shot gun and demanded the victim turn over his car keys. Burris drove off in the victim’s vehicle which was later observed in the parking lot of the apartment complex where Burris lived. Officers identified two others in connection with the robbery who implicated Burris in the theft of the vehicle. Pickens Man Sentenced on Trafficking Methamphetamine

Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Cindy S. Crick states that on June 2, 2026, a Pickens County jury convicted Nathan Douglas Garrett, age 48, of Trafficking in Methamphetamine, 28 grams to 100 grams, 2nd offense. Evidence presented during the trial by Assistant Solicitors Jake Lampke and Kjursten Collier established that on May 8, 2024, deputies with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office Deputies went to Garrett’s home in order to serve an outstanding warrant for his arrest. After being placed under arrest, Garrett admitted to having a large quantity of methamphetamine inside of the home. During their search, officers located around seventy grams of methamphetamine, along with numerous scales and small plastic baggies.

Garrett received notice that his trial was scheduled for the June term of Pickens County General Sessions Court. Garrett failed to appear and the trial proceeded in his absence. Following a guilty verdict, the Honorable Jessica A. Salvini issued a sealed sentence and a bench warrant for Garrett’s arrest. Shortly afterwards, Garrett was apprehended by and brought to court, where his seventeen-year sentence was unsealed. The case was investigated by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office Directed Patrol Unit.

Pickens Man Convicted of Trafficking Methamphetamine

Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Cindy S. Crick states that on June 2, 2026, a Pickens County jury convicted Jack Waylon Kuykendall, age 41, of Trafficking Methamphetamine, 28 to 100 grams. The Honorable Perry H. Gravely sentenced Kuykendall to thirty years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Evidence presented during the trial by Assistant Solicitors John E. Gardner and Hunter Z. Dunn established that on April 13, 2023, deputies with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on vehicle. Kuykendall was the rear passenger in the vehicle and deputies learned he had an outstanding warrant. Deputies located just under 28 grams of methamphetamine in Kuykendall’s jacket pocket. At his feet in the floorboard of the vehicle was a back pack containing a digital scale and two additional bags of methamphetamine weighing approximately three grams. The Thirteenth Circuit Solicitors Office gives thanks to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office in their assistance in presenting the evidence of this case to the jury.

Greenville Drug Dealer Convicted for Selling Methamphetamine to Undercover Investigator

Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor Cindy S. Crick states that on May 13, 2026, a Greenville County jury convicted Adam Richard Reid (51) of Trafficking 200-400 grams of Methamphetamine. The Honorable Perry H. Gravely sentenced Reid to twenty-five years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Evidence presented during the trial by Assistant Solicitor Grace B. Moroney established that on March 8, 2023, investigators with the Greenville County Drug Enforcement Unit ("GCDEU") utilized an undercover GCDEU investigator to purchase methamphetamine from Reid. Testimony during the trial showed that Reid agreed to sell the undercover investigator eight ounces of methamphetamine for a set price and instructed the undercover investigator to meet him at his home on W. Georgia Road in Simpsonville. The undercover investigator provided the agreed upon amount of cash to Reid and, in return, received two bags containing 223.35 grams of methamphetamine. Inv. Matt Franks of the GCDEU investigated the case.

Solicitor Crick is proud to announce that Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Michael Bryan is the 2026 recipient of the Billy Wilkins Award for Excellence in Law Enforcement. Investigator Bryan began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in 2004 and has worked as a digital forensic examiner and investigator in the Internet Crimes Against Children (“ICAC”) Unit for the past ten years. Investigator Bryan has been instrumental in securing significant prison sentences for offenders caught s*xually exploiting and assaulting young children.

Thank you to Investigator Bryan and all the Investigators in the GCSO ICAC Unit who dedicate their lives to protecting children from online predators, s*xual exploitation, and child s*xual abuse material. They routinely confront the internet’s darkest content, enduring exposure to material that most cannot fathom. In his acceptance speech, Investigator Bryan said this award belongs to the ICAC Unit as a whole, praising his team for their efforts. We are so thankful for him and the entire ICAC unit for their commitment to safeguarding the most vulnerable among us – our children.
