Greetings, Wintergreen Families!
First and foremost, thank you for making our first week of school such a success! Our Eagles and Gators were excited to be back in the building and we are grateful for your continued partnership and support as we work together to ensure a safe, positive, and successful learning environment for all students.
Please review the following important reminders and updates.
Morning Arrival & Car Line Reminders
Doors open at 7:25 AM.
The tardy bell rings at 7:50 AM.
We understand that the beginning of the school year can be a busy adjustment for families. Therefore, official tardies will begin on Monday, September 14th.
Tardies will be recorded for any student arriving on campus after 8:30 AM.
Kiss & Go Lines – Primary and Intermediate
Car riders may begin exiting vehicles at 7:20 AM once staff are on duty. Students should remain in their vehicles until staff are present. Please place your vehicle in park while students are unloading.
For safety, no left-hand turns are permitted into the Primary Entrance between 7:20–8:00 AM, Monday through Friday. We appreciate your cooperation as this helps keep our traffic flow smooth and safe.
Bus Lot Drop-Off
Parents may drop students off in the bus lot after 7:35 AM unless a bus is unloading or arriving late.
Please do not line up for Bus Lot drop-off before 7:35 AM, as early arrivals are causing traffic congestion.
At 7:50 AM, students must enter through the office and receive a tardy pass.
Bus Transportation
Our team has worked hard to provide bus numbers, stop locations, and estimated pick-up and drop-off times. If you need assistance, please call the school and ask for Mrs. Kimberley Gilbert, Assistant Principal (WGP).
Please remember:
Students should be at their designated bus stop 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
Buses may arrive up to 15 minutes after the listed time.
We do not provide door-to-door transportation. All students must be at their designated bus stop.
Labels & Car Tags
Please label book bags, lunch boxes, devices, and other personal belongings with your child’s first name, last name, and grade level.
If your child forgets a lunch, book bag, device, or another necessary item, please plan to deliver it to the school by 9:30 AM. Items dropped off after 9:30 AM will not be accepted unless approved by administration.
Afternoon Pick-Up & Dismissal
Afternoon pick-up requires a car hang tag. For safety, students will only be released to vehicles displaying the appropriate tag.
If you do not have a car tag, you will need to come into the office with identification in order to pick up your child.
Afternoon walk-ups are not permitted. All afternoon pick-ups must take place through the Kiss & Go lane.
Student dismissal time is 2:30 PM. Students cannot be checked out during the last 20 minutes of the school day, after 2:10 PM.
The process of moving approximately 1,600 children in an orderly and safe manner is critical. For student safety and accountability, we ask that all families support this procedure.
Practice Fire Drill
This Wednesday, September 2nd, we will conduct a practice fire drill.
These are routine safety practices that help prepare our students and staff for emergency situations. We wanted to make you aware in advance so that you may talk with your child beforehand if needed.
Our goal is to prepare students without overwhelming them.
A friendly reminder that our schoolwide Independence Day begins this Monday, August 31st. All students are expected to walk to class independently, with the assistance of staff members strategically placed throughout our hallways. Rest assured, our scholars are in good hands. We are excited to continue building independence, confidence, and responsibility in our Eagles and Gators.
Pre-K Families: By law, Pre-K parents/guardians are required to walk their children to class and sign them in.
Labor Day Reminder
School will be closed on Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, September 8th.
Thank you again for your continued partnership, patience, and support as we begin another great school year together. We are excited about what is ahead and are grateful to have such supportive families behind our students and staff.
Go Eagles and Gators!
Dr. Briney
