Members of the Transfer Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend a huge thank-you to Brown’s Towing and Walmart for their generous grant donations! Your support helped us purchase new Milwaukee tools that will be placed onto several of our fire apparatus.

These tools will greatly enhance our ability to respond quickly and efficiently during emergencies — ensuring we can better serve and protect our community.

Members of Transfer VFD would like to thank Reynolds Elementary PTO for having us at their annual Trunk or Treat!

🎃 We would like to wish everyone a fun and safe Trick-or-Treat tomorrow evening. 👻

As you head out for candy and costumes, remember these safety tips:
🕯️ Stay visible — wear reflective gear or carry a flashlight.
🚗 Watch for traffic and cross at crosswalks.
🎭 Make sure costumes fit properly to avoid tripping.
🍬 Have an adult check your treats before eating them.

Our volunteers will be out and about helping keep the community safe — so give us a wave if you see us! Have a spooktacular and safe Halloween!

This week, the Transfer Fire Department, together with our neighbors from West Salem Fire Department, conducted a pre-plan training at Quanex, Greenville Division. Members took the opportunity to learn and familiarize themselves with the layout of the property, buildings, machinery, and equipment. Preplanning helps firefighters and EMS personnel establish a solid game plan to ensure an effective and safe response in the event of an emergency at a large manufacturing facility like this. We would like to thank the employees at Quanex for taking the time out of their day to teach us about their industry and also for presenting us with a donation to our department. Transfer VFD is operated entirely by dedicated volunteers, and we greatly appreciate their continued support.

Yesterday, firefighters from Transfer, Fredonia, and West Salem Fire Departments spent the day at Reynolds Elementary School teaching students about fire prevention and safety. Students had the chance to explore the fire trucks and equipment, learn what to do in case of a fire at home, and discover the most important ways to help prevent fires. We would like to thank the RES staff for allowing us to continue this important outreach every year!

We extend our sincere thanks to Stat MedEvac for visiting yesterday and conducting an informative landing zone training session. Firefighters from Transfer, Fredonia, and South Pymatuning departments took part in the comprehensive three-hour course focused on air medical landing zone operations through both classroom instruction and hands-on experience.
