Bond County coroner's office would like to say thank you to the EMS services that provide coverage for Bond County. Rural Med EMS, A1 EMS in Pocahontas/Old Ripley and East Madison County EMS that covers the southwestern part of the county.

We also want to thank our county's first responder units that provide EMS services from local fire districts.

May 17th thru 23rd 2026 is National EMS Week.

EMS Week is a time to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our communities.

Please take time to thank paramedics, EMTs and the entire EMS workforce for their service and sacrifices. It's also an opportunity for EMS to continue to raise public awareness about the critical role of EMS in our county.

Planting season has returned to Bond County and with that comes the likelihood of increased encounters with slow-moving farm equipment on roadways. Farmers often need to move equipment from one field to another which can present unique challenges when slow moving equipment tries to mix with fast-moving vehicles. The Bond County Coroner's Office urges motorists to be aware of farm equipment and take safety precautions when necessary to share the road.

We hope that drivers will be patient with our farmers as they work to get our spring planting season underway.
