The Foundation is happy to be a significant funder of the work these young folks will be doing this week in Muhlenberg County. The Kentucky Chargers will be volunteering their time and skills to help Muhlenberg homeowners including the building of ADA ramps, painting, siding work, along with other projects for families who can’t afford the repairs or are physically unable to do so themselves.

The Foundation has been a proud supporter of Muhlenberg County High School's Bass Fishing Team, supporting partial boat purchases as the team has grown over the last 5 years. Under Coach Napier's leadership, the team has grown to over 20 members, and had nearly 10 state champions since 2013. Most recently, the group had an outstanding performance at the 2026 KHSAA State Championship on Kentucky Lake. Please help us in congratulating them!

Lauren participated in Leadership Kentucky's ELEVATE Kentucky program which offers young professionals an in-depth personal and professional development while fostering a better understanding of the challenges facing our Commonwealth.

Lauren was able to attend through the Foundation's Community Leadership Fund, which supports leadership development opportunities for people who live and work in Muhlenberg County, KY, and have demonstrated a commitment to making a difference in Muhlenberg County. Today, our offices are closed as we reflect on and celebrate the Juneteenth holiday. Juneteenth reminds us that strong communities are built through courage and resilience. At the Foundation, we are grateful to be part of community that continues to grow through compassion and a shared commitment to making Muhlenberg County a place where all people can succeed.

You might know that our middle school Ignite students earn money and learn job skills working at community events - but I bet you'd be surprised to hear that these students not only spent a day in April helping at the Humane Society - but then they also donated over $550 of the money they earned that day to make an ever greater difference there. We're proud of you, Ignite!

We're so thankful for our school system that provides for our students year-round with services and supports they may need. Check out the summer feeding program, below, taking place at Central City Elementary, Longest Elementary, South Elementary, our local Muhlenberg County Public Libraries as well as the Glenbrook Apartments.

The Foundation was thrilled to play a small role in the Muhlenberg County Fair’s “Special Needs Day” again this year — both as a funding partner and with staff/leadership volunteerism. 🎡
