Butler County Conservation District The Association serves as a vehicle for unified action by districts, exchange of information, and discussion of issues.

The Alabama Association of Conservation Districts (AACD), organized in August, 1943, is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization of the 67 Soil and Water Conservation Districts in Alabama. The purposes of the Association are:
To exchange information relating to the administration, operation, and welfare of soil and water conservation districts. To provide aid and guidance in programs for the pre

vention and control of soil erosion and conservation of soil and water resources. To promote water quality protection as a goal in soil and water resource programs. To promote retention of prime farmland for producing food and fiber. To conduct an educational and informational program as to the wise and efficient management of land and water resource

Each year, the last week of April and the first week of May is Soil Stewardship Week. The Butler County Soil & Water Conservation District delivers Educational materials and/or plants to all Butler County Schools, grades Kindergarten through 4th grade.

The Butler County Soil & Water Conservation District received a Grant from The Alabama Soil & Water Conservation Committee to build Book Barns and purchase Soil, Water and Agricultural Books for grades Kindergarten through 2nd Grade in all Butler County schools.
We would like to thank Justin Stinson for building, painting and helping deliver the Book Barns and helping us complete this special project. We would also like to thank Mark Smith for also helping with this project.

The Butler County Soil & Water Conservation District donated Incubators to Butler County Pre-K classrooms. We have enjoyed watching the students place their eggs in the incubator, watching them grow and hatch. It was so cool to see a chick hatch while I was visiting the Bright Beginnings McKenzie classroom. We would like to thank W.O Parmer Bright Beginnings, McKenzie Bright Beginnings and Fort Dale for allowing us to dontate the incubators and participating in this project. 🐣🐥
