A huge round of applause for DPW 👏

During the month of May, the community came together to support Neighbor to Neighbor through the Fill-A-Truck food drive, and the results were incredible.

The Town of Greenwich Department of Public Works will host a Public Information Meeting for the Fairfield Road Culvert Replacement Project.

Please join us in recognizing Rich Feminella, Wastewater Division Manager, as the Town of Greenwich’s Employee of the Month 🎉

With nearly 18 years of dedicated service, Rich leads the team responsible for maintaining the Town’s wastewater infrastructure—essential work that supports public health and protects our environment every day. While much of this work happens behind the scenes, its impact is felt across the entire community.

As Rich shared, “Our work isn’t always visible, but it’s essential. I value being part of a dedicated group that shows up day and night—even in adverse conditions—to keep Greenwich’s wastewater infrastructure running efficiently and protecting public health.”

DPW has begun accepting applications for the 2026–2027 Holly Hill Facility permit cycle, which starts July 1, 2026.

If you need a permit for the current year, the 2025–2026 permit application remains open until June 30, 2026.

We’re closing out National Public Works Week by highlighting the team that helps keep Greenwich clean, sustainable, and running efficiently every day.

The Waste Disposal & Recycling Division manages operations at the Holly Hill Resource Recovery Facility and oversees programs for household trash, recycling, bulky waste, and organics. They also support community initiatives like textile recycling, medical equipment reuse, and the food scrap recycling program.

Through daily operations and ongoing education efforts, this team plays a key role in reducing waste and supporting a more sustainable future for Greenwich.

From daily maintenance to major projects, the BC&M Division keeps Town facilities running safely and efficiently behind the scenes.

Since July 1, 2025, their team has:
đź”§ Responded to 1,400+ work requests
🏢 Managed 27 evictions
🗳️ Logged 535 hours supporting elections

Recent projects include the replacement of the roof at the North Street Fire Station and the consolidation of BC&M office space into a modernized, more efficient workspace.

Whether it’s routine repairs or large-scale improvements, this team plays a critical role in maintaining the buildings and spaces our community relies on every day.

Protecting public health and the environment is no small task and our Sewer Division does it 24/7.

👷‍♂️ Plant Operators run the Grass Island Wastewater Treatment Plant around the clock, treating millions of gallons of wastewater every day (including holidays)
🛠️ Maintenance crews service and repair critical systems to keep operations running smoothly
🔬 Lab staff process thousands of samples each year to ensure water quality standards are met
📍 Collection system crews maintain 185+ miles of sewer lines, 4,000 manholes, and 27 pump stations

From treatment to testing to emergency response, this team works behind the scenes to keep Greenwich safe and sanitary.

What helps keep Greenwich’s infrastructure safe, accessible, and future-ready? The work of our Engineering Division! 🚧

From improving traffic flow along the Glenville Corridor to advancing Safe Streets Greenwich, the Engineering team is constantly planning and designing solutions that enhance safety for all who live, work, and travel through Town.

Recent projects also include ADA accessibility upgrades along Greenwich Avenue and drainage improvements on Edgewood Avenue, each one making a lasting impact on our community 🦺
