Yesterday morning, companies were dispatched to a reported structure fire in backcountry Greenwich. Initial reports indicated a detached garage fire that was possibly spreading to the main residence. Engine 8 arrived first and confirmed a working fire. The garage was fully involved, and the fire had extended into the main living area of the home.

Engine 8 deployed a 2.5-inch line to begin extinguishment, and Squad 1 arrived shortly after, stretching an additional 1.75-inch line to the front door to initiate an interior attack. Because the incident occurred in a non-hydranted area of town, a tanker shuttle operation was required to supply water to the scene. All responding companies worked together to quickly establish a water supply and bring the fire under control.

All occupants were safely accounted for, no injuries were reported, and the Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

His passion for service extended beyond the badge, volunteering his time with local charities and staying active in the sports he loved most, football and lacrosse.

Officer Pascale represented the very best of our profession. His kindness, dedication, and spirit will never be forgotten.

Calling hours will be held from 2pm-8pm on Sunday, November 2nd, at Bosak Funeral Home located at 453 Shippan Avenue, Stamford, CT. A Mass will be held at Church of Saint Cecilia on Monday, November 3rd , at 10:30 am located at 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT.

Earlier this month, we were informed of the potential presence of mold within the living quarters at the Cos Cob Fire Station. In response to this serious health and safety concern, the Town has initiated testing and will proceed with remediation as necessary. Out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of protecting our members, both career and volunteer personnel have been temporarily relocated from the living areas of the station. Effective immediately, the career-staffed engine company (Engine 2) will be operating out of Central Fire Station in Downtown Greenwich. The health and well-being of our members remains our top priority. We are actively monitoring the situation and are in ongoing communication with the Town to ensure that all remediation efforts meet proper health and safety standards. We will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.
