Meet Lauren Rabin — a dedicated resident of Greenwich, an experienced public servant, and a candidate for (and current member of) the Greenwich Board of Selectmen. With a deep connection to our town and decades of service across multiple boards, Lauren brings both roots and results to the job.
Her background in brief:
- Raised in Greenwich from age nine and educated locally: Cos Cob School, Central Middle, and Greenwich High.
- Professional experience: 40 years in high-tech marketing.
- Public service:
- Member of the RTM (District 9) 2011 & 2013; Secretary of the Finance Committee.
- Member of the Board of Human Services, appointed 2012; served as Secretary until 2015.
- Elected to the Board of Education 2015; served on Negotiations, as Liaison to GHS Student Government.
- Elected Selectwoman 2019 and subsequently re-elected 2021 & 2023.
Why she’s running (and why it matters):
Lauren says her focus is on keeping Greenwich accessible and thriving for families, seniors, businesses, and newcomers alike. She believes in fiscal responsibility and investing in the priorities that matter: excellent schools, safe infrastructure, and thoughtful long-term planning.
Her campaign emphasizes:
- Balancing affordability with the high quality of services and schools our town expects.
- Tackling traffic and pedestrian safety, including improved sidewalks, crosswalks, and ADA enhancements.
- Promoting open space preservation, smart public-private partnerships, leveraging technology, and transparent communication so taxpayers get value for every dollar.
