Medicare Scam!
The Greenwood Police Department wants to warn it's citizens that there is a new effort to scam individuals who receive Medicare benefits. The current scam is being made by phone calls to individuals asking questions about their Medicare status. Some of the questions are asking about when did benefits start and have you received your plastic card? Medicare advises that they never issue plastic cards, only paper. Chief Craft recommends that any questions of this nature not be answered. And that the citizen should report being contacted to the Police Department and Medicare.
