The Greenwood Fire Department was honored with a Class 1 Public Protections Classification rating from Insurance Services Office, an insurance ratings and advisory organization that operates throughout the country. Class 1 is the organization’s highest distinction for fire protection.

The Greenwood Fire Department is proud to be a drop-off location for United Way of Johnson County, Indiana ‘an Operation Bundle Up!
We are collecting winter essentials to help keep our neighbors warm this season!

Items Needed:
🧢 NEW hats
🧤 NEW gloves and mittens
🧣 NEW scarves
🧥 Gently used winter coats
📅 Collection runs now through October 30!

🚨 NOW HIRING: FIREFIGHTER/EMT 🚨
The Greenwood Fire Department is accepting applications for our next recruit class! If you're ready to serve your community, work as part of a team, and take on a rewarding career in the fire service, we want to hear from you.

This is a non-certified hiring process. All selected recruits must successfully complete our six-month recruit academy to obtain their fire and EMT certifications.

Minimum Requirements:
✔️21–39 years of age
✔️High school diploma or GED
✔️Valid driver’s license
✔️No felony convictions
✔️Valid CPAT by December 20
✔️Successful completion of the department’s ladder climb

📅 Application Period: October 12 – November 20

After recently completing recruit academy, Reeder continued pursuing his goals by completing paramedic school. Balancing life as a fiancé, probationary firefighter, and paramedic student takes dedication and hard work, and he has continued to exceed expectations every step of the way.
