Hello All! Here's our latest LibraryWise column from the Addison Post:

Hello again, Friends! If you haven’t yet signed up for dinner with Leslie Elliott on the 9th, this Friday, June 5th is the last day to do so. Leslie will be sharing tips on cooking for one person. Call or stop in to add your name to our list!
Are you looking for something fun and free for your elementary-aged kids to do this summer? From July 11th until August 15th, we’ll be having our summer learning program here at the library on Saturdays from 11am until 2pm. Our theme this year is Unearth a Story. Each week will feature a fun story, lunch, an activity, and a craft. Check out our flyer in the foyer. (Why aren’t dinosaurs allowed to use a computer? Because they keep eating the mouse!)
If you missed our May Mystery Meal, we’re truly sorry to have missed you. We had LOADS of fun creating our Mad Libs. Our next Mystery Meal will be on June 25, and our theme will be America the Beautiful, in honor of both Flag Day (June 14) and our nation’s 250th anniversary on July 4.
Speaking of America 250, it's time to make history at the library! Celebrate our communities' past, present, and future with Messages from Our Orbit: STLS Community Time Capsules. Submit a capsule prompt from June 1st - August 31st to make your mark on history and be included in a community time capsule. Capsules will be inventoried, registered, and packed for libraries to open in 2076!
What will you send into the future? What do you want to share with your future community? What do you want to remember about right now?! It's YOUR time to make history. Stop in or call for more information!

We're excited about our Summer Learning Program this year!

Here's the latest edition of LibraryWise from the Addison Post:

Hello Friends! I find it absolutely amazing that the month of May has flown by so fast; it seems like yesterday, I was planning May events, and now we’re almost into June! Speaking of June, we’re hosting dinner on June 9th, with guest speaker, Registered Dietician Leslie Elliott. There will be a sign-up sheet here in the Reading Center, so we know how many people to cook for. Leslie will be sharing tips on how to cook for one or two and how to keep meals interesting when you’re cooking for yourself, alone.

One huge thing that happens every June is the end of the school year. With the last day of school being June 26, we’ve decided to host a School’s Out, Summer Celebration! Between Monday, June 29 and Friday, July 10, kids can come and hang out whenever we’re open and play on the Nintendo Switch together. There’s no tournament this time, just snacks and gaming. What a relaxing way to kick off summer vacation!

What kind of dinosaur makes the best meal? Apatosaurus (A-pot-a-saurus!) Did you know that we’re offering lunch to our elementary-aged participants at this year’s Summer Learning Program? We at the Greenwood Reading Center are so excited to be joining the Wimodaughsian Library and the Canisteo-Greenwood Central School District to bring Summer Learning Program alive for our elementary-aged students. Every Saturday beginning July 11 and ending on August 15, we will be helping kids to Unearth a Story from 11:00am until 2:00pm. There will be a different story, related activity and craft each week, along with a sack lunch for each participant. As always, we are offering this free of charge!

Something is coming...

A chance to send a message beyond today, to capture a moment, a thought, a piece of now...

This summer, your story becomes part of something bigger.

Stay tuned.

Hello Friends! If you looked for our LibraryWise column in the Addison Post and didn't find it, you're not alone! Once in a while, our friends at the paper don't quite have space for everything. Here's what you would have read:

Hi again! Exciting news here at the Greenwood Reading Center; we have gathered our entire Large Print collection of books into one area of the library, in order to make it easier for our LP fans to find a great book to read. No more searching for the stickers!

Next week, we have our Mystery Meal covered-dish dinner at noon in the Community of Christ church. If you’re tired of your own cooking and looking to spend some time in the company of friends, then we’re here for you! We’ll be playing some Mad Libs, making wacky stories by replacing parts of speech. Don’t remember what an adverb is or where it goes? We have a cheat sheet for that! Who says parts of speech can’t be fun?

GRC Coffee Bar fans, we’re hosting dinner on June 9th, with guest speaker, Nutritionist Leslie Elliott. There will be a sign-up sheet here in the Reading Center, so we know how many people to cook for. Leslie will be sharing tips on how to cook for one or two and how to keep meals interesting when you’re cooking for yourself, alone.

Why don’t dinosaurs drive cars? Because Tyrannosaurus wrecks! (T.Rex) We’re hard at work on our Summer Learning Program curriculum. Stay tuned for details! Fun fact: this year, we’re offering lunch to our elementary-aged participants.
