The Refuge Inc.

The Refuge Inc. The Refuge opened in 2007 as a non-denominational, faith based community outreach center.

It is supported by organizations, businesses, churches and individuals from our own community. It is our goal to provide physical, emotional, academic and spiritual needs of area residents. We are a community outreach center that is supported by local churches, organizations, businesses and individuals. We rely on the gifts, talents and wisdom of our community to be available to those in need. We

value our volunteers, board members, supporters, but most importantly our clients. We feel it is a priviledge to serve, and are grateful for the opportunity.

Be careful how you live. Temptation is real. We have an enemy. Remember to have courage, be strong and do everything in love. Don’t assume you are always living the right way. Those of us who think they are always standing strong are the ones likely to fall to sin. But don’t get discouraged or defeated. We can trust God. He won’t let us be tempted or face more hardship than we can bear. He will always make a path forward. Even if we fall he will lift us up. Remember that our fight is not against people on this earth. We fight against spiritual powers of evil who want to invade our lives with darkness. Again, don’t get discouraged or defeated because Jesus is the light and he has overcome that darkness. Just keep living in him. His grace is all we need. When we are weak that is when his power shows up in us and shows off to others. Our weaknesses are good times because when we are weak is really when we show God’s strength.

A huge thank you to the incredible team from X2Networks for continuing to make a difference through Oven Mitt Meals!

This amazing group joined us last evening in the Refuge kitchen completing their 200th meal of the 450 meals completed so far in 2026 as we work toward our goal of 1,000 meals this year. They also assisted with breaking down bulk rice to smaller bags for distribution.

Their servant hearts, enthusiasm, and commitment are helping provide comfort, nourishment, and hope to families throughout Johnson County. We are grateful for their partnership and for helping expand the impact of Oven Mitt Meals.

Want to get involved? For $300, your team can sponsor and prepare 50 meals for local families in need. Refuge staff handles the shopping and coordination — your team simply shows up ready to serve!

Reminder…. Saturday June 6 is bonus pantry from 9:30am - 11:00.

I trust what the Lord says. I wait for his help when I am in trouble. God created me and loves me. My worth is not tied to my accomplishments. We are sons and daughters of Christ. He loves us as his children. So don’t become like everyone else in the world. Let God change you from the inside out. He will do this by changing the way we think. He wants us to understand what he wants for us. Good things happen to those who listen to God, trust him and learn from their experiences. Learn to be reflective, think about what is happening to you and around you. I say this because God has good plans for us and for our future. Nothing can separate us from God’s love. He brings us complete victory over all that comes against us. He loves us with a love that will last forever. Know that love. Trust that love. God is love.

A heartfelt thank you to Kroger, Greenwood Police Department Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana Inc. for organizing Pack the Cruiser! Held each year as students prepare to leave school for summer break, this community food drive helps collect much-needed nonperishable food items and donations to support local food pantries during a season when many families lose access to school meals.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to stop by and give today. Every donation helps provide meals and support to families and individuals in our community who are facing food insecurity. Thank you for helping "pack the cruiser" and make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors. Together, we are fighting hunger and sharing hope! 💙🥫🚓
