A busy corner in downtown Greer is getting more "welcoming" by the day!

Adam Schrimmer from Blank Canvas Mural Company is working on a second downtown mural on the side of The Great Bay Oyster House at the intersection of Main and Poinsett Streets.

The new mural will say, "Welcome to Greer" and serve as a visual gateway into the heart of Greer Station.

Earlier this summer, Blank Canvas finished painting another mural honoring the city's sesquicentennial on the side of the historic Davenport building.

When Greer High School takes on Union in a rare Thursday night football game tonight, the Yellow Jacket Sports Network will be broadcasting the action live -- just as the team has done for the past 37 years.

Kickoff is at 7:30, but the Yellow Jacket Tailgate show starts at 6.

For the team behind YJSN, this labor of love is all about friends, family, and football.

The mayor and City Council honored a tiny but mighty state championship team at last night's meeting.

Members of Greer's 8U softball all-stars team, their families, and coaches packed Council chambers. After posing for pictures with leaders from the City of Greer Parks, Recreation & Tourism team, the mayor sent the champs home to hit the books!

The City of Greer is working to extend the life of its roads using math and science.

Here’s how it works: Engineers rate the roads on a scale of zero to 100, and each year, contractors apply specialized materials designed to protect the pavement on the streets that need the most attention.

This summer, contractors are working in eight Greer subdivisions. Assistant City Engineer Nathan Jackson explains how this process saves taxpayer dollars and makes our streets last longer.
