6th GRADE PARENTS- We are excited to announce our new Monthly Meet Up and hope that you’ll plan to join us for some or all! We will be hosting a Google Meet Up once a month to connect with other 6th grade parents, share experiences, support one another, and build a stronger school community. Whether you’re navigating middle school for the first time or looking to connect with other families, this will be a welcoming space to learn something new, share ideas, ask questions and build meaningful relationships. Our first meet up will be on September 15th at 12:30pm. The specific dates and Google Meet links for each month will be posted in advance on the RMS School Counseling website.

🌎🎨 Sculpting the Earth! 🎨🌎

We were getting hands-on in 7th Grade Social Studies with Ms. Mathis! Students used Play-Doh to sculpt different landforms and then showcased their creations by adding pictures to an informational slideshow.

Clio Society wants you! We are now accepting applications for members for this school year. Clio is a social studies club for students interested in history, culture, and art. We help build our school community by learning about different cultures, experimenting with crafting and making, playing historical games, and through planning heritage events throughout the school year. If you want to sign up, you can pick up an application from the library or ask your social studies teacher.

Our 6th grade ELA classes recently visited the library for an orientation and got the chance to explore everything their library has to offer! 👑📖
Students learned about library resources, how to visit and check out books, reading programs, library programs, our MakerSpace, and more. They also explored our collection of 14,000+ books and found some new favorites to take home! 📚💙
From reading and relaxing in our comfortable chairs and FitDesks to playing chess and creating in the MakerSpace, there’s something for everyone in the RMS Library! ♟️🛠️📚

Mrs. Sharpton’s students brought geography to life by creating their own landform models and researching real-world examples from around the globe! 🏔️🌋🏜️

Students photographed their models and created slideshows highlighting the characteristics and locations of their landforms. This hands-on activity helped students connect what they’re learning in the classroom to the incredible geography of our world! 🌍📚
