As we start another week, please remember to SLOW DOWN in our school zone. The Greers Ferry Police Department will be out and strictly enforcing school-zone speed limits.

Our goal is simple: we want our children, school staff, parents, and citizens to get where they’re going on time and, most importantly, safely.

Please give yourself a few extra minutes, stay alert, and watch for children and increased traffic around the school.

Good morning, Greers Ferry.

After much consideration, I will be contacting Flock Camera Systems, suspending services, and starting the process of having the cameras removed from the city.

This decision was not made lightly. As Chief of Police, I believe the safety of our community must always be balanced with the privacy, trust, and concerns of the citizens we serve.

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to share their thoughts and concerns. Our Police Department belongs to this community, and your voice matters.

We will continue working every day to keep Greers Ferry safe while maintaining the transparency and accountability our citizens deserve.

Good morning, Greers Ferry!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and productive week ahead.

This is a friendly reminder that school starts back this Thursday, August 13, 2026. As students, parents, and school buses return to the roads, please allow yourself a little extra travel time and be patient, as traffic may be heavier than normal.

The Greers Ferry Police Department will have an increased presence around our schools, and our officers will be strictly enforcing speed limits in all school zones. Our goal is simple: to keep our children, parents, school staff, and everyone traveling through our community safe.

Please slow down, eliminate distractions, watch for children crossing the street, and always obey school zone traffic laws.

Thank you for helping us make the start of this school year a safe one for everyone.

The Greers Ferry Police Department wants to remind everyone to stay alert for scams involving individuals claiming to be law enforcement officers, the FBI, or representatives of other government agencies.

Scammers may tell you that you have:

* A warrant for your arrest
* Missed jury duty
* Owe fines or taxes
* Need to make an immediate payment to avoid arrest

Remember: Legitimate law enforcement agencies will never demand payment over the phone, request gift cards, cryptocurrency, or other unusual forms of payment to resolve a legal matter.

If you receive a suspicious call from someone claiming to represent law enforcement, the FBI, or any government agency:

📞 Do not provide personal or financial information.
📞 Do not send money or make any payments.
📞 Hang up and contact the Greers Ferry Police Department directly so we can verify the information.

If you’re unsure whether a call is legitimate, let us help. We’d rather answer your questions than see someone become the victim of a scam.
