Online registration opens on Wednesday, April 29 at 8 a.m.
In-person and telephone registration opens at 9 a.m.

Session dates:
Monday, Wednesday May 11-June 3
Tuesday, Thursday May 12-June 4

American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification Course

Precourse swim test: Friday, May 22 at 5 p.m. Candidates must pass the precourse swim test in order to participate in the course.

Course dates:
Thursday, May 28-Sunday, May 31
Thursday 5-9p.m.
Friday 4-9 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

Cost: $250 course fee, $35 for printed participant manual (electronic manual is free)

Minimum age: 15 years

Course format: Blended Learning format. This includes 7 hours of online learning that must be completed before the in-person class sessions. The precourse swim test is offered one week before the start of the in-person course to give time for completing the online content.

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Course

Summer job potential! Learn to teach swim lessons!

Days and dates:
Friday, May 1, 4-8 p.m.
Saturday, May 2, 12:30-5 p.m.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, May 5-7, 4-8 p.m.
Saturday, May 9, 12:30-5 p.m.

Course fee: $150

Prerequisite: candidates must be at least 16 years of age and a Level 4 swimmer in the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim progression.

By the end of the course, candidates will:
-learn motor skill development and progression
-practice teaching a variety of skills for all age groups and ability levels
-learn how to give and receive positive and constructive feedback
-practice and improve six swimming strokes
-learn how to teach diving and diving board skills
-learn to present water safety skills and information

Improve your swimming strokes and practice the skills needed to enroll in a Red Cross Lifeguarding certification course. This class is not a certification course, but can help you get ready for one!

Age: 15 years and up
Prerequisite: able to swim comfortably in deep water
