Our fifth graders have been exploring the wonders of our national parks! This thematic unit combined research and writing as students learned about their chosen park and brought their learning to life by creating a diorama.

Crater Lake, Zion, Everglades, Kings Canyon, Saguaro, and Biscayne are just a few of the parks represented. From sparkling lakes and towering canyon walls to desert cacti and lush forests, their projects showcase thoughtful details and creativity.

We’re proud of the hard work our fifth graders put into connecting their research, writing, and art. Enjoy this peek at their national park creations!

Our students had a blast with this activity! 🎉 They looked at a picture and became little storytellers, writing simple sentences about who or what they saw and what was happening. So much fun while building those sentence-writing skills! ✏️📸

Growing stronger readers, together!

Daily reading helps students build fluency—reading accurately, smoothly, and with expression—and comprehension, understanding what they read.

Our students are practicing through partner reading! Reading aloud, listening to a classmate, and talking about the text give students opportunities to practice words, support one another, and share their thinking. These conversations deepen understanding and help build confidence.

Keep learning going at home by setting aside time to read together each day. Ask, “What happened?” or “Why do you think the character did that?” A few minutes of reading and conversation can make a difference!

Here are some of our second graders in action during partner reading time:

Our Hispanic Heritage Parade was absolutely wonderful and so much fun. It was amazing to see so many families join us to celebrate. I saw so many happy faces—and even a few tears of joy! What a beautiful way to come together as a school community.

Many thanks to all of our staff and students who participated and helped make the celebration so special. This is one of the many ways we can show up for our students, their families, and our community and let them know that they are seen, valued, and celebrated.

It was so special to see everyone celebrating together!

Join us in celebrating Mr. Eddie, our Head Custodian and this week’s Staff Acknowledgment Award winner!

Mr. Eddie works hard to keep our school clean, maintained, and ready for learning each day. Many of our students also get to chat with him in the cafeteria during lunch, making him a familiar and friendly part of their school day!

Thank you, Mr. Eddie, for all you do for our students, staff, and school community. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for a job well done!
